LMC has announced that it has broken ground on The Whitney, a mixed-use apartment community located in the heart of Flagler Village in Fort Lauderdale.
The community, which will feature 386 apartment homes and 2,012 square feet of ground-floor retail space, will be amenity-driven and commuter-friendly with immediate access to several key thoroughfares. First move-ins are anticipated for summer 2018.

Among the transit-oriented conveniences at The Whitney will be a Wave Streetcar stop, allowing residents to connect easily with the dining, shopping and entertainment options available in downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition, an All Aboard Florida/Brightline express train station will be less than three blocks west of the community, which is situated at 120 NE 4th street just north of Broward Boulevard. The train will provide convenient access from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Residents who prefer to drive will be within minutes of Interstate 95 and US Route 1.
The Flagler Village/Downtown Fort Lauderdale area is home to several prominent employers, including AutoNation, Citrix Systems, DHL Express and several financial institutions. The MASS District (Music & Arts South of Sunrise) and Flagler Arts and Technology District also are contained within Flagler Village. Nearby attractions include Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, Central Beach, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Discovery and Science, Holiday Park and Savor Cinema, a year-round art movie theater featuring three bars and concessions.
The Whitney consists of studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 512 to 1,424 square feet. Amenities at the smoke-free community include a club-quality fitness center, resort-inspired swimming pool and a pet park. Residents will have access to LMC’s Signature Resident Services and the Lennar Perk Program, which includes a percentage of rental payment portions used towards the purchase of a Lennar home. Apartment interiors will feature quartz countertops, custom cabinetry and beautiful interior design.
